Florida is a unique place where people and crocodilians live close together. It's also the only place in the world where alligators and crocodiles coexist. As our state develops, the chances of human-alligator and human-crocodile encounters increase. While these animals are an important part of Florida's ecosystem, it's natural to worry about having them in your community. That's where we come in.
Who We Are and What We Do
As founders of GiveaCroc CSI: Crocodilian Scientific Investigators, we are dedicated to providing the highest level of expertise. We utilize our extensive experience and science-based methods to help prevent potential crocodilian-human conflicts before they occur.
Our services include:
Population Monitoring: Using a scientific nocturnal "eye-shine" technique, we conduct systematic surveys to determine the number and size of alligators and/or crocodiles in residential and commercial waters. This isn't just a snout count. It’s a detailed survey to evaluate whether the population is healthy and self-sustaining, while also observing any aggressive behaviors that could signal potential conflict.
Behavioral Assessment: We do more than count snouts. Our team observes any aggressive behaviors and suggests the best course of action to enhance public safety. Our goal is to prevent conflicts before they occur.
Community Education: We believe that knowledge is power. By helping communities understand the biology and behavior of these amazing animals, we can reduce fear and promote safer coexistence. Knowing what to do if you encounter a gator or croc can help you avoid dangerous situations.
A Dedication to Safety
GiveaCroc operates in full alignment with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's priority on public safety. Our expertise helps communities proactively manage their crocodilian populations, ensuring both people and wildlife can thrive.
