Safer with Gators

GiveaCroc understands the importance of human safety and peace of mind when it comes to wildlife encounters, especially when it involves apex predators like alligators and crocodiles in residential and commercial bodies of water.

Vince and Cherie specialize in providing systematic crocodilian population surveys designed to provide you with accurate up-to-date information about the gator activity on your property.  Knowledge of the health, sizes, and behavioral tendencies of your resident crocodilians increases the safety of you and yours in their presence. With our expert guidance, you can be confident that your property is safer from potential gator or croc-human conflicts.

By partnering with homeowners, business owners, and local communities, Giveacroc aims to create safer coexistence for all.

How to Live Safer with Gators & Crocs

  • DO NOT feed wild alligators or crocodiles. It is illegal and once they see you as a food source, you may become their food.

  • DUSK & DAWN are prime hunting times for gators and crocs, so don't swim in their territory during their meal times.

  • STAND BACK several feet from the shore when fishing. Gators can lunge six feet.

  • NEVER clean fish at boat ramps, docks, or near the water's edge. This is the same as feeding the resident crocodilians.

  • LOOK for slide marks. These mark gator and croc basking grounds or nest sites.

  • NEVER harass a crocodilian, especially small ones for they have protective mothers.

  • DON'T throw garbage or food scraps at the water's edge. This attracts fish and raccoons which in turn attracts crocodilians.

  • BE AWARE of gators and crocs at night when you are near any water source.

  • KEEP arms and legs inside water crafts when in gator country.

Please do not feed the wildlife or one day they may feed on you!
